Iguazu tells the scale of nature not through words, but through its overwhelming sound.
As you approach Iguazu Falls, you hear it first. Before the waterfalls fully appear, the force of the water announces itself. Then the view opens and all you can do is look, because in some places the words do not arrive immediately.
The scale of the falls, the humidity in the air, the fine spray on your face and the green all around reveal nature at its most uncontrollable and awe-inspiring. Here you do not feel like a spectator, but like a tiny part of an immense stage.
The voice of nature
Iguazu's power is not only visual. It has a sound, an atmosphere, movement and a current of energy that never stops. A photograph can capture an instant, but the true effect of this place lives in its motion.
Some landscapes are immense not because they are beautiful, but because they leave us speechless.
That is exactly what Iguazu was for me.
